In the heart of the historic village of Laxton, Dovestays is a charming traditional inn offering fine food and rooms that are spacious and full of character. Wi-fi is free.
The food served at The Dovecote is home-cooked and made using fine local ingredients. Guests can enjoy wholesome dishes as well as lighter snacks and a continental breakfast is served in the room. There is also a selection of ales, beers and fine wines.
The bedrooms are located in a barn conversion, with a private entrance, original beams and views over the barns garden. Amenities include a bowl of fresh fruit and a flat-screen TV. A toaster and fresh bread are also provided in each room.
Sherwood Forest, home of Robin Hood, is a 15 minutes’ drive from Dovestays and Nottingham can be reached in 45 minutes by car.
The hotel day starts from hour 15:00 and ends at 10:00.

We also have a closed period on weekdays between 3 & 5:30 - however check in is available throughout the day.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. King Room. This room overlooks the gardens and is situated in a pretty barn conversion, opposite the main building. The en suite bathroom includes a walk-in rain forest shower. The room includes a king-size bed, flat-screen TV, mini fridge, toaster and kettle. A continental breakfast is served in the room and comprises of fresh fruits, cereals, breads for toasting, jams, cheeses, fresh milk and juices. Please note that the room is not suitable for wheelchair users, as there is a short flight of steps to access the room. ;
Deluxe King Suite. This two-storey deluxe suite is situated in a pretty barn conversion, opposite the main building. The lower ground floor features a bathroom with a walk- in rain forest shower and bath. Stairs lead to the second floor with benefits from large skylights and the original barn gable window overlooking a grassed area, and there is also a second toilet and wash basin. This suite features a super king-size bed, flat screen TV, dining table and chairs, mini fridge, toaster and kettle. A continental breakfast is served in the room and comprises of fresh fruits, cereals, breads for toasting, jams, cheeses, fresh milk and juices. Please note that this room is unsuitable for wheelchair users due to stairs. ;
Deluxe King Room. Featuring free toiletries, this double room includes a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and a hairdryer. This double room has soundproof walls, flat-screen TV with cable channels, garden views, as well as fruit for guests. The unit has 1 bed.
