The picturesque village of Welton is known for its paddling ducks and fresh spring water stream winding its way round the church to our famous pub, The Green Dragon (where Dick Turpin was arrested).
We are at the start of the Wolds Way and have two dales right on our door step perfect for walking or cycling.
We are half an hour’s drive from the beautiful market town of Beverley with its amazing minster, cobbled streets and endless cafes, restaurants, markets and ancient public houses.
We are also less than an hour from the ancient cities of York and Lincoln and of course Kingston Upon Hull, city of culture 2017 is about 10 minutes’ drive. Leeds is around one hour away with its Harvey Nichols, The Ivy restaurant and countless shopping arcades with something for everyone.
The lodge is only 2 miles from the east coast main line station in the next village of Brough, with direct trains to and from London, Edinburgh or stops between.
We are also less than a mile from the main A63 and 15 minutes from the North Sea Ferries Terminal for Zeebrugge and Rotterdam.
Humberside airport is 20 minutes with links to Europe, whilst Doncaster airport is 40 minutes with international links. Manchester airport is about 1.5 hours directly across the M62.
